Westlake Auxiliary Police Unit

Welcome to the online home of the Westlake Auxiliary Police
Unit! In the unit one learns that volunteer service to the
community has its own rewards. "It is through giving that we
receive."
Though we take what we do seriously, we are still able to
look at the lighter side, and enjoy the uniqueness of each of our
members. It's hard to imagine that community service could actually
be something that one enjoys doing. Most people go through life
without even thinking about it. We in the Westlake Auxiliary Police
Unit are a little more fortunate. We realize the value of what we
do, and we enjoy doing it.
The feedback we get from the general public is
great. Most people are grateful for the services that we
provide, especially those who have been rescued when they have locked
their keys in the car. We can be found throughout the city assisting
police officers by doing many of the things of lesser urgency that would
otherwise keep them from the important job of Law Enforcement.
We direct traffic at automobile accidents and at community
events. We also provide supplemental patrols on weekends,
patrol city facilities, and perform many other duties. The City of
Westlake spares no expense in maintaining a first rate Auxiliary Police
Unit. We are well equipped and well trained.
Though our members are of different generations and come
from every walk of life, we all have one thing in common; the pride
we take in our membership in the Westlake Auxiliary Police Unit. The
memories we have will stay with us all the days of our
lives.
If this sounds like something you would like to be part of, we encourage you to fill out your application for membership in our unit. |
